I love Bassetts. I think they are one of the coolest dogs on this planet (or any other for that matter).
On one hand, I'm very sorry he isn't with you. On the other, I'm happy he's been adopted and perhaps into a family that doesn't travel as much as you do. I realize that may be your loss. But it may be his everlasting gain.
I always think that our home would be perfect for every rescue. And then I realize I can't give all the dogs the individual attention they deserve. And that's the key: they need constant, individual attention and love. If we have too many dogs or if our lifestyle is too transient, then they belong in another home.
I'm sorry you lost him. I know he'd be loved in your home. But maybe this is actually better for him.
Meantime, get some pics of this guy. I want to see Mr. Elvis.
