A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I visited Sabino Canyon looking for some fall color. (I know that time has passed most everywhere else, but Fall comes late in the Sonoran Desert.)

The cottonwoods were mostly still green. Understandable since daytime highs were still in the mid-seventies and overnight lows had not dipped below forty yet. But, we did manage to find a few pools of standing water in the creek, even though it had not rained for quite some time.
