For 'display' images, I just do a simple watermark on the image (though the reality is that once it is on the 'net anyone can pretty much click on anything).

Thanks, I didn't realize that the camera could do it, I assume this can be set as part of the properties? Or is it inserted into the file properties with software you use to download the images? When I download images off my card I just drag the images from the SDHC card to the folder I want. The images end up with the photo properties, and I see an option for copyright but I assumed that had to be added by other software? Guess I'll pop in the DVD that came with my camera (Canon XSi) and see what's there. I know Zoombrowser is there, I used an old version of that years ago from my Canon Elph but it was such a memory hog.

Thanks for the tips on the copyright, I remember hearing something about no need to use the year and copyright mark and I suspect it has very specific application to how the image is published/used? More homework...
