Thanks all! All of the dogs (with the exception of the Schnauzer) are rescues. The Cocker was found as a matted ball of fleas wandering the streets of Houston. He was brought into animal control and then turned over to Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Houston. He had been adopted out twice before we got him, but he was returned for his aggression towards kids. Because we are a kidless home, he fit right in and does very well. He's been with us since 2004 I believe. And the brown dog is my original. He is a Rhodesian/Pitt mix whom I 'rescued' from a hoarder. He's my $25 life long friend and the absolute BEST dog anyone could ever ask for.

We lost our 4th rescue in January of 2007. He was a 110 Weim named Rhamer. He was rescued straight from the kennels at a puppy mill during a raid by animal control and cooperating rescues. He also had epilepsy and was on a daily prescription of three different meds. He fell into a 4 hour long seizure and the vet said that IF he came out he'd probably have brain damage. Thats when we made the very hard decision to give him peace.

We are only waiting until we can buy another home of our own, which will happen hopefully in the spring. When that time comes we'll be looking to rescue another...

Jim,
Even though Hannah is still very timid, she enjoys life now and lives in the lap of luxury. She's got the biggest bed of all of the dogs, and she gets the most attention. She is the oldest of them all, and I fear that the inevitable is getting closer faster than I care to admit. But until we are faced with it, we definitely pour the love on heavy! Dont let her fool you though, she plays, and plays ROUGH with the youngest of the bunch.... the Schnauzer.
