Hey Everyone,
I shot 14 portrait sessions today while at the Brooklyn Mutt Show. I used the 5dIII for all of them. Here is a quick summary of things I like:
1. The AF is spectacular - super (super) fast.
2. The 18 shot burst is only at ISO 100-400. The shutter burst drops significantly (to about 7 frames) by the time you get to ISO 25,600.
3. The View Finder seems bigger than the 5dII - by just a bit...and possibly a bit brighter. I love the new 'grid' options in the view finder.
4. The body is slightly grippier than the 5dii.
The Negatives:
1. I am just not a fan of the new menu system. While it is certainly something I am sure I will get to, I find the new system to be just difficult to navigate through. It is incredibly cluttered. Each category has several sub directories and plowing between commands is onerous. Thankfully, most everything I do can be done with the control dials on the camera...but still. Getting through all of the sub menus to the 'format card' section sure is a chore.
