Wasn't having a go at your friends - ear cropping was banned in Australia about 20-30 years ago so we just don't see it, even in the show ring. Last year tail-docking was also banned in most States. The breeders are screaming blue murder that it will be the end of civilisation to have to exhibit a long-tailed dobe or rottie. They'll just have to get their heads around it. The debate has been savage, it got very political. Already the young long-tails are appearing in the Ring, it's actually a good look once you get used to it. Photographically, it makes square format difficult: I liked square format rottie shots.
