Thanks everyone - and Julie especially for noticing the issue! That photo is printed in Dog Fancy every month, as the woman in the shot is the author of one of their regular columns. I was actually at her home to photograph her parrots, and last minute, she asked if I could nab one of her and her dog. I threw a black velvet scrap over the doggie room divider (those wire gates), had her sit in front of it, and this is the result. She's written many a pet book, hence the column in Dog Fancy. She asked me if she could have it for that, and I said "of course." Her parrot pics were published in Bird Talk magazine in the issue on stands now, too - very, very cool.

James is referring to a couple of writeups I've had in local newspapers (James and I are both in NY). The Newsday one offered a lot of exposure, but for some reason, they didn't print any of MY photos (only the ones the paper's photog took of me TAKING photos of a dog), and no contact info. Drat! So much for free advertising:) Article is here, online version sans pics: http://www.newsday.com/features/printedition/ny-2know4851871aug16,0,2227269.story

I have a shot of a pup coming out in an upcoming Dog Fancy, too. They're a tough nut to crack, that magazine. Their list of contributing photogs is something like 60 people...and your submitted pic has to be better, or more appropriate, than any of the others sent in. Tough competition!
