I should have been more clear. I took 3 shots of this scene - at -2, 0 and +2 stops. This is the '0' stops shot. It was very early morning, and the light was just hitting the tips of the mountain. It was beautiful.

I agree that I would like to lighten the forest area, but not too much as I think that it would take away from the marvelous light as I was seeing it.

The question is - how? This current shot is a simple one - just playing with the curve a bit. I would rather not introduce too much noise into the shot by kicking up the shadow tones too much.
