my Sigma 80-400 lens is still "in the shop", so i figured i'd take the ol' FZ20 with my TCON-14B teleconverter on it down to my favorite park this afternoon. the place was dead... nothing worth a shot, until i saw a green heron fly across the bay into a small lagoon. i went around the bay to a viewing platform overlooking the lagoon, and what should i see but the heron, perched on a tree branch a few feet above the water! well, needless to say, i groused and grumbled at not having my 30D and the Sigma for such a golden opportunity, but with the converter on, the FZ20 gives me about the same "reach", just not quite as crisp and clear, so i rattled off some shots, and as it turned out, the FZ20 did a respectable job in relief... .
