Thanks Jim and Marta, it isn't going to seem real for a long time, I miss her a lot.

I was thinking about the photo shoot in November, I want to keep it simple. I will probably not do something like this again or at least not often so I dont' want to buy too many folders or cards, etc. Also my site is set up to sell certain sizes (4 x 6 thru 16 x 20) and I can't change the sizes and prices offered for just one shoot, it's data base and my brother/business partner does that part and we are swamped with work so dont' want to ask him to try and change things for me, it would be a big ordeal.

So I was wondering if I could have people sign up at the shoot before they get their photo taken, and pay right there for a 4 x 6 which would come in a Christmas themed folder (I could then use the leftover folders for my own Christmas cards I always send out a Hallie photo) That way there wouldn't have to be any online orders and if someone did want to order more I'd just hand out a card or flyer with my email address for additional orders. Does that sound ok or am I not considering something?

Also I was going to offer the owner of the training center 10% of sales. He is going to play Santa too though. I am guessing normally, the photographer brings everything to a venue they rent, props, Santa, etc. So would normally have to also give a cut to Santa. Since the owner is both should I offer him more like 15% or 20%?

I am sorry to hear about your aunt.

Why do you want to give away 5 to 10% more of your money? 10% is the normal amount to give to the venue and since he plays Santa Claus, he probably pays himself, so why should you pay him? When I hire a Santa, I pay the Santa, when the venue hires a Santa, the venue pays the Santa.

Dee Dee,
I think 10% is more than enough. As for the folders, I agree that delivering the 4X6 in a Holiday folder on the spot and getting paid on the spot is the right answer. I would suggest, however, that you have a "Special" for Xmas cards with the image that they purchase. You can order those through almost any good print house (I use MPIX). You wouldn't have to add it to your website. Just print up a tent card and have the offer with you onsite.

I have offered him 10% I'm sure he'll be more than happy with that. I will also be ordering folders and good idea about the cards. MPIX looks like a good source! Thanks.
