This is a shot I was lucky to get of my daughter napping on top of our whippet. In typical whippet style, she prefers to meld into people and appreciates the warmth of human bodies

I used a 50mm at F2 and a flash on auto TTL mode. I did bounce the flash off the ceiling to soften it. Had I been able to find my Gary Fong diffuser, I would have used it!!

Julie,

This is a spectacular photo! You really did a great job with it and you were so lucky to catch the moment. I like the way the light is hitting your daughter's face and your dog's.

Very well done - thanks for sharing!

James

Really, really spectacular - I agree! I don't know about the Lightsphere here - I dunno if this could have been better! There's absolutely no evidence of flash that I can see, and that says it all:)

Hey Chris,

I agree with you 100% about the quality of the lighting. The lighting looks very well directed from an angle (you can see a bit of warmness around her dauther's ears) and a nice rim light in the dog's far eye. This is what surprised me as this is just bounced off the ceiling. It is an excellently done shot.
