Hey Guys,

Chanthee and I were out shooting folliage in the local park. It has been the best fall this area of Manhattan has seen in years. Unfortunately, days of the peak period were spent raining...but we were able to do some shooting. Here are some shots of Mahkayla.

I love the leaves in the background. A very warm fall feel to it. I can't believe how good Mahkayla looks!!!

Thanks, Julie. She really has come along way - even the limping is greatly improved since we helped take the weight off of her. Last night I woke up at around 1:30 AM with her on my head - not a welcome experience. LOL, I really do think she believes she is a cat.

It is nice to see it pay off. I am trying it again with being more consistent with the training. It is not easy -- and I think at least part of it is due to the fact that she is half husky. She is great until she sees another dog and then the entire noggin turns to jello. :P

These are wonderful James. The last one really shows what a happy and loved and I'm sure, very grateful, dog she is. Her black is beautiful in the fall leaves.

What did you use for her distraction? Natural passers by? squeakies? treats? Just seems very natural captures!

Welcome back!! Mahkayla needs no distracting influences. LOL, she is inherently distracted. :P I get such a kick out of watching her and the expressions on her face. She has a remarkable play drive that I have never had in any of my other dogs. The last several days, the weather has been cold and wet and her arthritis is obviously acting up in the back leg so she has been a little less excitable.

In general, I do not use squeak toys or any such measure (outside of treats and the owner's presence) for any of my pet photography...except for cats. With the felines, it is 'no holds barred' in order to get the photo.

They are all beautiful and she is a beautiful dog. My favorite is the last one. Looks like she tried to bring you the "tree" instead of just a twig..LOL
