On the first image with both Bassets, I really like the head tilt of the doggie on the bottom left. She looks curious. On the second image, it looks like there is more light on the doggy's back end than on her face.

Thanks for sharing your photos. I have two Basset Hounds, one tricolor and a lemon, and I have a problem wherein the lemon Basset always blinks when my flash fires. I have tons of pictures of her with her eyes closed! Needless to say, she is a natural-light-only photo subject.

I am sorry I missed this post! The poses and expressions are really nice. Your biggest issue is the light spill from your backdrop. Turn down your lights as it is bouncing off the white drop and getting all over your subjects. Easy fix!

Thanks Earline and Julie, I learned about this immediately after this shoot; to much flare from the white background. Now I have the background set at f11 and the subject set at f8; I use bi-fold doors to block any light from hitting the subject from the backgroud lights.

The more I shoot, the more I learn. Funny how that works!
