I think this has a pretty look. I might not use the deckel edge.

if you mean does it look 1950's I'd have to say no. I did not live in the 1950's but your image looks more like 2000 with some photo shop. I think 1950 would be black and white, high contrast, plain, not flowery clothes, different camera, say a brownie, and or a large wood tripod with a box camera.

The image went from a photo to a "painting" of some sort when you processed it in PS. Take it back to a photo, make it black and white, increase the noise and contrast.

I think if you are trying for that tinted-postcard look, it approaches it, but lacks a little in the pink range and is a bit undersaturated for that, but you are getting close to that pastel "make-up" look.

Hi Randall,

I did live in the 50's, owned a Brownie and watched film as it progressed
to today.

I would do something like this if it were mine.

A 1950's automobile would have dated it if you were lucky enough to
get a shot when they were having a rally etc.

just my thoughts

Dale

Tony have you ever heard of an Argus film camera my brother used to shoot for Jack -be -nimble back in the late fifties , he even has images of Red China he took with this camera while in the Navy ,his shots looked a lot like this . JUst thought I would throw that in , the shot does look good as a black and white it was taken just a couple of years ago on the Blueridge Parkway in Tn. thanks for the comments.

Nice work Dale...
I almost used the photo corners also but saw the torn edges in actions and thought I would give it whirl . I also have a 55 ford victoria here in this same location, but I just thought about working this shot of my wife Kay, I also was around back in the fifties and the forties too fot that matter lol thanks for the reply

I would not say this is a 1950's look, but I think it is a great artistic shot. This is the kind of shot that marries photography with art.

I am usually so focused on trying to make things look the way I saw them, I forget there are great images that evoke emotions without attempting to replicate nature.

Thanks for posting.
Dave
