A storm was moving through and the light was changing between light and dark overcast. Every so often the sun would peek through the clouds casting an eerie light across the valley.

Minor modifications where made to this photo. The upper left where I was able to recover the nearly blown out clouds, and the upper right where I adjusted to allow the mountain behind the clouds show through the fog. I also applied a little sharpening.

I found it interesting that it looks like an oil painting straight out of the camera (Canon 5D RAW). Another photographer with me had the same result from his Nikon D80. I believe this unusual look to the photo is due to the strange light and the dusting of snowfall.

This is one of my all time favorites photos. Your thoughts?

I really like this photo a lot. You did some very nice PP, and the composition is pretty darned good. Colors are accurate and lively. Drama shows well.

If I had any suggestions it would have been giving the tip of the mountain a bit more breathing room. Maybe pull back just a tad on the zoom. It might have given you a bit more of the drama in the sky as well.

Other than that....I would say very good job!

In total agreement with Roman!
Excellent color and textures. The mountain does need a bit more sky above it, however.

Nice overall work!
