Focusing on landscape....it always escapes me the people who capture birds in flight....Woke up this morning and found a Dove in a branch outside my window....set up the tripod and the took some shots. This is the best of what I shot.

Very nice. Good background, that moss makes for a nice molted backdrop. Man and look at all that moss, it just grows everywhere over there I guess:)
Is this that sharp and through a window, or were you able to open the window?

Thanks, Jeff

Through a window....I will try to get sharper next try...looks like their regular hideout....so gonna try manual focus....none were ultra sharp...or as sharp as they should have been from a D2X. I tested later in the day and got some sharper shots but less compelling compositions....so will be revisiting as time allows.

At this size they look very sharp especially considering they are through a window. But I assume that enlarged you see the downfalls of window glass.

Everything else looks great, lighting exposure, color and all. I would have liked to either see the whole tale or have a branch cut it off instead of the image edge.

Thanks, Jeff

Superb exposure for such wonderful, natural colors, Roman! Very nice details considering the 'window filter' in front of the lens!

My bird hideout is a double-pane Thermopane sliding glass door overlooking my backyard feeders and surrounding trees. It's a real challenge to get good focus through glass and you did a fine job with this one.

Best regards,

Dick:)
