Roger,
these all have that HDR intensity that I really like. However, they also look a bit over-processed to me. Number 4 is the most natural but the sky in particular has a real color-cast to it in the other 3.

Is it straight HDR out of Photoshop or is it a single image that you've tone-mapped? I sometimes find the effect from taking the best exposure and tone-mapping it is actually better than using pure HDR techniques.

In general, however, I like the intensity and the micro-contrast effects. But I'd tone down the color just a bit to keep the sky more believable.

Jim

Hi

I like em too - image 2 for the eyecatching blue sky and image 4 for it's more subtle treatment - nice one.

Hi Jim, I agree about the over-processed but the customer was sitting here with me and these are what he decided on. I took one photo and used Dynamic photo hdr to do them.

When the client is the art director, then the final results are right on . I've loved your series and the range of images from B&W to HDR. Great stuff!

Hey Rog,

While the colors might be a bit strong on a couple of them, they really are a cool series. Now..take this for what it is worth, LOL...I think that these are some of my favorite shots that you have shared in a while. I love the compositions, and the strong almost 3 dimension intensity of the photos. Very nicely done.

Curiously, how long have you been working the rail road?

James

They told me they wanted lots of choices so I am trying to give them lots of choices.

Thanks for the nice words.
