While this is off-topic, I have a need for your opinions. We had a baby shoot this past Saturday and the mother asked if we could have a large print made for the baby's first birthday party scheduled for next Sunday. She said "I'll be busy next Monday and Tuesday, but I trust your judgment." Now, at 62, I was not born yesterday and I realize that this is the fastest way to disappoint a client -- whichever image I select, it will probably not be the one that she would select.

So, I'm asking you to help me pick out the right image. Normally, I'd ask Linda and RoseAnn to help. They've bailed out on me and won't be home until late. So, here are 3 images which I've selected for the big print. Please tell me which is your favorite.

1.

2.

or, 3.

I have to mention that this one-year-old, Alexis, was amazing. She stayed with me for over 2 hours of photographs outside and was still smiling at the end. What a great kid!

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jim

Ouch, that's a tough choice. I'm deciding between 1&3.
The only thing keeping number 3 from being a sure thing for me is the hair in front of the eye, but then again that makes it sort of cute too.

I love the peaceful expression in #2, but the dappled lighting is not my thing.

I know, I'm not much help, but maybe I'll prompt a thought or two.

Jim,
so in your definitive opinion, then, it could be 1, 2 or 3 ? Thanks, Jim, that's a big help .

Number 2. I love the lighting (sorry JP) and she pops more against the background. Even though her eyes are closed, she has a peaceful look (baby angel in prayer), and it is the only one where she has a smile.

Well, I would have enjoyed a little more input but we decided to go with #2 because her expression is just priceless. Jim, dappled sunlight doesn't bother me at all. I fill the shadows a bit in PS but, overall, it looks more natural.

Thanks for taking the time to help. I appreciate it.

Jim

That is definitely a great expression. I don't think you could have gone wrong with any of them.

Hey Guys,

Sorry I am just getting into the fray on this one. I am still very limited via e-mail/Internet. I am glad just to have a connection right now...and I may not have one the rest of the week (after tomorrow).

Jim - I think #1 is the real winner for me. I love the pose. It is timeless. #2 would be my second choice. This pose could not have been pulled off without the eyes closed. It is also excellent. I would rule out #3. #3 is my least favorite of the bunch - mostly due to the hair in the eyes and the tilt of her head.

Nice work!

James

It sounds like its too late to impact a decision but from another Mom I'd vote definitely #2 for a big print. It is just *adorable*. #1 is nice but a bit busy in the background, although you maybe were thinking about taking that out. #3 would definitely be a No for me for this purpose.

I think #2 is the winner for a parent - beautiful expression, posture, etc.
