Just took Ms. Juneau to the vet for Xrays and we definitely saw 7 skeletons with maybe one hidden behind two others. So, we're planning for 7 but wouldn't be surprised if she delivered 8 or 9. Juneau weighed in today at a chunky 112 lbs and is in excellent health. Delivery date is estimated to be November 9.

Here's a photo I took of her just a few minutes ago.

We'll start putting the whelping box together in the studio tomorrow and make sure she's comfortable in it. She should remember it. I'm also planning to walk her a little more just to make sure she's in good condition to whelp.

More once the puppies arrive.

Slept with my hand on Ms. Juneau's belly last night and could feel the puppies moving. They're getting restless. Not much longer.

What a great caretaker. Sounds like Nov 4th is a nice day for a birthday.

PeggySue,
nope, more like November 9. They tend to move around a lot as they move down in the abdomen during the last week. Even when we did the Xray on Monday, they were tucked up in her rib cage quite a bit.

But, I'll start taking her temp today and we'll monitor just in case she decides to drop them early. Which, of course, means we never leave her alone until the litter is born. No more restaurant dinners for a while.

Funny, I took my Ragdoll queen in for a checkup and Xrays. Vet saw 3, maybe 4 babies...my girl had 8!

Any babies yet?
