Went out to shovel this morning. Decided it was too icy and that I would wait for the sun to warm things up a bit more. Then BOOM! Down I went. Leg twisted around way farther than it is supposed to.

Off to the ER, but it is just a bad sprain.

No work next weekend, and only one portrait sitting during the week this week, so things aren't too awfully screwed up yet.

Hey Jim,

Good luck with recovery. How'd it go at the ER?

James

Not bad actually. In and out in about an hour which is pretty surprising considering how many of us silly folks were slipping and falling.

Splint for a few days and then off to the Ortho-Doc for an evaluation. Looks like my super weak ankles saved the bone.

Jim,
that's why I never go out when there's ice on the ground. Of course, there hasn't been ice on the ground here in Orlando in about 20 years . Believe me, that is one thing I do NOT miss from my 40+ years of living in New England.

Sorry to hear about the injury but glad it isn't apparently anything too serious. Actually the scariest part about that post was seeing that you went to the ER. And you survived! Thank goodness!! Heal fast.

Jim

I hear ya! I tried to venture out this morning to ship a lens that I sold. No dice there.

Good luck Jim!
I twisted my ankle last April in some mud at my house. I iced it thinking it was just a simple sprain. 2 months later I finally went to the Ortho doctor. I pulled a tendon in my foot, it took 8 months for that sucker to heal. I wish I had just broken the bone, at least that would have only been 8 weeks.

The worst was PT which is really named for Pain and Torture!
