I'm not sure if there is a thread about it already, just came across your article James on the Puffin trip. The photos are just incredible! Really enjoyed them. Especially love the "face on" shot and the close up.

Thanks for taking the time to put it all together!

Diana

Thanks, Diana. I was very pleased with what I got, considering that I was only in the blinds for about 70 minutes. Given that the weather crapped out the first time within 15 minutes and the second time the shooting was more than a bit sparse.

Having said all that - it was definitely worth the time, money and effort. Have you checked out any of the shots on the facebook page? There are another dozen or so there.

James:

Just returned from a two week camping trip. After checking my Yahoo email account, NWP was my first stop. Was delighted to find the article about your anniversary trip to Maine. I agree with Diana, very nice. I think you both nailed some really good wildlife portraits there.

Great Job !! And thanks for the puffin pics.

Jim

No, I figured you'd have more here, I'll definitely check out the extras on FB. I really love these birds! The intensity of coloring on them is amazing.

Thanks all! I am going out hopefully the 15th of July. I sent an e-mail to Holly Davis, the owner of the operation. I have not heard back yet. I am eager to get back out there for another crack. I want to see some of the parents bringing food back for the hatchlings.

Hey Everyone,

I am just a few hours shy of NYC at this moment. The puffin trip was a success. I THINK that I got what I wanted - puffins with fish. LOL, it was not easy though. The moment they land on the rocks, the jump into their boroughs to feed the young, so you need to be at the right place at the right time in order to get them.

The rest of the trip was a bit of a loss. Not one good sunrise or sunset....except of course the morning we headed out to see the puffins. It is hard to do a landscape at 65 mph.

James
