I use Photocal with Monitor Spyder. It has saved me a fortune in prints as what I get looks pretty identical to what is on the screen. I tried the Adobe color matching system that they give you with Elements and CS, but I was unable to really get the color the way that I wanted too.

Color balance is important when you are dealing with multiple images of the same or similar subjects.

Tony, thanks, I WILL check that out.

James, I see your point, when shooting multiples like for a wedding, you want the same thing.

Thanks, Jeff

I use the Gretag Macbeth Eye 1 monitor calibration.

What would make this look better.... ? ...

Composition does look good (maybe not better, but definitely good) as square format. Cropped at the top-line of the lower leaf, then a little more from the bottom than Tony took.

I regret selling my square format film cameras, especially the Haselblad, wrong decision at the time. It would probably not get much use but would be nice to have the option for slides.

Hummm. I have never cropped square. I’ll have to try and see what that looks like.

Thanks, Jeff

OOOOOH. Yes, I prefer this significantly over the prior shots. The color is great and I like the tight composition.

Yeah, I like it too. I know this is a keeper, but the one thing that I wanted to achieve with the other shot was recognition. Good bad or indifferent, when people look at the other shot, they say hey that’s a, ummm lilac. This may have more wow factor, but I’m so close I loose that recognition part.

Thanks, Jeff
