I took these photos in my garden and placed them in a template in photoshop. I am trying to transition from Sports photography to nature and wildlife. Check out my webpage. Comments appreciated.

Hey Poggi, Welcome aboard. I checked out your website earlier. I love the music you use. Shooting hockey looks pretty difficult, and you seem to do a great job. By the way, that sure does look like a great Avatar!!! Your website seems to be very cleanly set out. However, I find that pages load a bit slowly. I know that folks often complain about the front page here at NWP because it is so graphics intensive...(and yet my t-1 breezes through it very quickly). Once I got the pages loaded, however - it moved quite smoothly. You have a huge collection of great photographs...though it was hard to find your nature/wildlife photographs. I had to hunt for them (until I found them in the Potpourri section). The orange cat reminds me intensely of one of ours who past away a tw years ago, named Roger. I hope that you add more nature and wildlife shots to your website. On another note. You know, in Massachusetts, there are plenty of great places to be shooting wildlife and nature photography. Particularly as you move up towards New Hampshire. I am hoping to get out there in October to do some folliage shooting. The moose should also be at their full size also up by Moose Alley going towards Canada. -JM PS I see that you are selling your prints on-line. How do you find business to be?

Thanks for the input. The photos on the site are all sized for the web, and are low rez. Can you speculate as to why they load so slowly?
I am at the begining of a new journey. After doing hockey for so long, I now will focus on nature and wildlife. I have to start from the begining and read as much as I can.
I do find that some of the timing I have mastered in youth sports, serves me well with birds, and insects. I will build on that.
First, on my agenda is to purchase a Canon 100-400L IS to go with my 70-200 F2.8L, both of which are staples of the 20D system I utilize.
As I progress, I will update my site, and refocus on wildlife, pets, and nature.

"First, on my agenda is to purchase a Canon 100-400L IS to go with my 70-200 F2.8L, both of which are staples of the 20D system I utilize." I am not sure why the site was loading slowly. We were having a heavy volume of traffic at the time I checked your site out. Perhaps others were looking at it too. I should check the site out from my office. The connection there is slower than it is here at home. As for lenses - I am constantly debating which lens I want next. The 100-400 seems like a very versatile lens. I know that I see a lot of the in Yellowstone when I am out there. My next purchase is going to be big though - I am debating both the 300 F2.8 IS and the 400 F4 IS DO. It will probably not be until next year. Unfortunately, for wedding work, I don't have much excuse to purchase any of the larger lenses. Have you thought about where and what you want to focus on in wildlife photography? -JM
