These are some shots of Michael with Mahkayla. The two of them absolutely adore each other, and it will be sad to separate them (as we may have tentative homes for the two kittens). Ever since we separated the kittens from their mother, Mahkayla has been the surrogate mommie. Ideally, we would have kept the kittens together, but the vet says, "it is time" and that momma needs all her energy to prepare for the babies, which will be coming very soon.
Mahkayla, for her part, is constantly following the kitten like a big mother hen. When I get up in the morning, she is with the kittens in the 2nd bedroom watching them in the crate (we only have them out while supervised still). Just beautiful - and very happy.
