I really like the concept of this shot - a lot. It is very cool. Can you tell us a bit about the exposure and where you took it?

The only thing that I might have tried different is perhaps composing the photo from a slightly different angle so that it did not appear as if you are above the foot print. How high up was the camera when you took this shot?

as you well know, it's impossible to capture three dimentions on a two dimentional object. in order to get the track and the mountains in the same shot, you have to be above the track. if I were to get much lower than in this shot, you the track would be less prominant. that track was even at a slight angle toward the lens as it was on a slight mound. I've been trying to get this shot for a long time. the tracks are there but they seldom are this fresh and almost never are they facing the mountains.

It really is quite a cool shot. I realize that changing positioning would change the perspective - it was just an idea.

Again, very cool. Is there anything you would do different had you to re-do the shot?

I shot it from every angle I could and this one is the one I liked the best, by the way, it was the first one I shot!

I only wish I could get the bears to go where they would leave tracks in places that would make better shots. the hard part is finding a decent track. I've seen thousands of trackes, and it's seldome that you get one good enought that it will photograph well. I'm sure if you were up in alaska or canada where there are more bears and they are more frequent you could do better, but down here it's tough.

also, it was raining and the wind was blowing the rain into the from element, that sucked!

Anyway, I did the best I could give the situation. Any lower, believe me I tried, and the print does not come out very well, and it looks too long due to the distortion.

That is a cool subject and rendition. Many years ago I was packing pretty deep into the wilderness, pitched my camp at dusk, and then saw a similar scene.........oh sh....
What do you think about a tilt shift on that one?

LOL - well, very few bears for me this time...and I was jumping all through the mess looking for critters. The good thing about having my brother there with me is that he is NOT afraid to get dirty. I saw very few bear this time in the park (which is different from past trips at this time of the year).
