Hey Tom,
Thanks for answering the question, but somehow I am still missing something. How is it that you are getting the perfect aura around the bird? Is it just a situation where you have looped around the bird and erased the top layer, leaving a brighter under layer beneath?
James
Ok, I see what you are looking at. That aura is not intentional. It is a by product of the HDR process. There is a blur option during the process and I should have blured it a little more. If I did you would not see the aura. Good eyes!

LOL - one man's treasure and all that. I LIKE the aura - and I assumed it was done in PS...I just could not figure it out. Its there on both images, but it is more pronounced on the 2nd shot (The Eastern Towhee). Let me ask you - now that you realize that the aura is there, would your druther be to re-process the photo? I am curious to see how it would look with a slightly stronger blur.
James
PS You wouldn't also want to share what the pre-processed not HDR image looked like originally, would you?
Here are the two uncroped photos I used to process the one I posted.

I found that when you run the plugin and use no blur you get no aura but the image looks a little flat and more noise that must be dealt with later. More blur leaves less noise but you still get a little aura around the image. Depending on the background, the aura more or less visible. I have played with the plugin a few times with this image but seem to like the original one I posted the best.

Hey Tom,
That is a pretty remarkable difference. Is the download you are referring to off of the 360VR site?
James
Yes that is the one and I see they have a new version of it. I'll have to check it out. Give it a try and let me know what you think of it. It's not something you want to use all the time but sometimes it's a lifesaver.
