I usually have to shoot these fellers with flash, but with the last two weeks of winter being especially nasty, this one ventured out in daylight. (Here in the midwest, it looked as though we had totally escaped winter ... but it appeared in a concentrated form!)
As many as 100 birds and 25 squirrels could be found at my feeders (I used > 200# of various seeds/peanuts in less than a month).
Not the best surroundings ... it is scavenging bird seed ... but certainly the crispest shot I've gotten of this largely unloved marsupial.

Very nice shot of a very largely unloved marsupial. Having said that, it looks to me that the shot is slightly under-exposed (I figure about 1/2 of a stop). A very nice shot otherwise. I am trying to figure out what the black marks on the Opossum's nose are. They look like scratches to me.

The "marks" on the nose are bits of bird seed, as this beast was foraging in the dregs. I processed this on a much-too-bright LCD, so it's probably properly exposed, just not properly processed! Dynamic range is also sometimes a problem with snow shots.

LOL, Ken, you just got an "Oh my god...it's so scary looking" from my wife...followed shortly by "let me see it again."
