I like Roman's version. As I've written elsewhere, I used the "painting" technique before blending this image. I would not know how to do it using Roman's excellent Color Range technique.

Roman has increased Green in the evergreen tree, which needed it. I like that.

I haven't been using color filters in PS. The barn and foreground and be warmed by adding a touch of yellow and a touch of red, perhaps adjusting color of the barn separately from color of the grass. I used curves to do that, but I assume Levels, Color Balance, Selective Colors, or Channels could be used for the same purpose.

I am about completely lost, but, I love the way Roman did this. I am so interested in how everyone came to their version. I am just not sure how to use brushes and such.

This is my last stab at this image (for the moment). Roman, how are you getting this sky so blue? I can not seem to do it. I have been playing with the photo filters and have been having a lot of fun with the colors (now I see why the barn had come out a bit cool in your initial shot, I think). I just cannot get that rich blue that you put together.

Hope you don't mind folks , but I remember doing an edit on this a few months ago when it was first posted . No HDR , just a tighter crop , S-curve , shadow contrast and some shadow/highlights .
