I like this picture of the antelope lots!. It makes me want to reach out my hand to touch the satiny softness between his ears. And I think you got the DOF just right.
As a matter of personal taste I would crop it just a bit from the left and top, like this:

Welcome. I have to admit when I first looked at this pic, it screamed zoo snapshot. I agree with Tony about the ear tag and not letting the zoo dictate the composition. I like his crop to get rid of the ear tag but it makes me feel a little cramped. I also like the bokeh on the ridge of hair on its back.
So here's what I did to make it to my liking (and I fully admit that it is completely subjective). First I cloned out the eartag. I'm not going to get into a discussion of the "ethics" of changing the image. Some human put that ear tag in and this human took it out. It is also human nature to always gravitate to the eyes of the beast and so I did a little work there. Unfortunately in the shade the eyes appear as non-descript black disks. But there is some detail in there. First I selectively lightened the eye just enought to see a slight detail of a pupil. I also applied a slight amount of selective saturation to offset the desaturation from the lightening. I know it's suble but if you look at the eye, you can just see a little detail. Then I used som selective sharpening of the nose, the eyes and the ears and the forhead. Shooting wide open really limits the DOF and the focus is already soft at the eyes which for me is critical. Finally, I cropped for composition. I also went tighter to get more intimate and get rid of that forced zoo composition, but the big step was letting go of the 3/2 aspect ratio. It just didn't work for me in leaving so much blank space on the right side. Anyway here is my wack at it.
