James threw down a friendly gauntlet for us to show our fall colors. Went to the Japanese Gardens this morning in hopes that the colors have started to show....not a LOT of luck, but colors are starting to pop a bit....so without further delay...here are my first wave of color shots...

I liked the fourth one the most. Though they are all technically quite competent, the first three don't show a huge contrast in color. I like the picture of the Japanese house though for different reasons.

Having said this, I came up with total bubcus this weekend. It was quite sad (you can see my post in the Going to NH thread in the other forum)...we did our best, but I feel that we came up short. I am going to be going to some nature preserves here in NY over the next couple of weeks with one of our forum members. I hope that I will be able to break the curse.

I want to TRY to be able to give you a run for your money.

Exactly.....colors werent there....but hey...wasn't gonna let the oppertunity pass me by, so took what I could.

I will be returning their next Saturday (already have some shots planned if colors are right...so this weekend was good scouting as well)...hope these evening cold snaps will give me a bit more color by then....have a wedding to shoot on Sunday.

4:00AM on Monday....im on the road to Sunny Cali. Been watching the weather there....and every evening is averaging about 22 degrees with with 60s-70s in day temps....perfect weather for fall color potential. Should be popping right when I get there. Realizing that I will have to pack winter gear though...thick coats and just picked up some mechanics gloves (allow me to work with levers/buttons and keep hands warm) as my time is the times before the change over to those nice glowing days.

Your 4th image here is truly splendid in everyway. Foliage is beautiful and the waterfall is a beautiful finishing touch.

Thank you very much Gale. The Japanese Gardens here are on of my favorite subjects to revisit. I am glad you found them pleasing.
