Just reading through this thread and found the above quote rather interesting. If I have interpreted the paragraph correctly it is suggesting that "pet photography" is more about posed sittings and portraiture type work than it is about candid photography where there is no setting up of the animal.

I'm wondering if others define pet photography in this manner, and if so, why candid style photography is not as highly regarded?

Quite interested in others opinions on this! And to the OP...I loved the beach shot!
