What has been posted publicly, I will repeat. Which is pretty much the majority of my info.

double digit MP
blazing fast AF even in low light
No noise at 800ISO at 200% magnification, Very good at 1600 ISO
Same build quality as the E-1, if not better

There are a couple of other things that are slotted for it that weren't mentioned publicly. The prototype that was handled had a feature that OLY users are really hoping for. That one other DSLR company has. So, that should give a pretty good guess. I think that was the one feature that was being a bit tricky. Of course, what has been seen is prototypes, not finished products.

It will be announced Jan 26th and shown at PMA. It will be the E-1 replacement, not a mid grade camera.

I have to decide if I want to get really serious with photography. My husband really wants my E-1 and I really wouldn't mind upgrading. It has to be financially worth it. I can't imagine I would need a new camera for a few years. If I can justify it, I will buy it. I think the price point will be around 3k. Not sure though

Julie, have you ever seen Yannar Thusbertrand's work? He uses a big backdrop and a couple of strobes in giant softboxes, I think...Check this out:

Fascinating work, isn't it? Also, makes me want to throw my camera in the garbage and take up knitting.

That's an amazing collection of pics!

I love how he uses the actual setup as a focal point - don't just shoot the subject with a backdrop, shoot the backdrop as part of the shot.

Clearly gets to travel, too - could you imagine being able to travel to Mongolia to take shots liek those? That's a dream.

Chris that is stunning work, thank you for the posting. And in using google to re-find the site, 'accidentally' found he has an exhibition on here in Melbourne (Australia) now, this week!! Can't believe it, perfect timing, said to be 100 of the best of the horse portraits only on display at the art museum, a governmental cultural exchange I think. I would not have known it was on without your posting so double thanks, I'll let you know when I have been there for a look (maybe more than once).

And it would seem that is just how it was. Shot in 17 countries. The exhibition is quite stunning. I was a tiny bit afraid it might be just a wall of 6" x 4" prints behind a six-foot distance barrier. Nothing like: the images were all large, nothing under about four feet-by-whatever. Extraordinary printing and presentation, quite breathtaking. Overheard a couple of photographers there also say "well, we'll just chuck our gear in a waste-bin as we leave".

Anyone who hasn't looked at Chris's link to the Yann galleries should take a few moments - it is quite special.

As I type this from Morocco, I reminded to make good images is to capture life as it happens for that one moment.

Perhaps another tea and a ride through the bazaar will clear my mind before we begin a day of falconry on the dunes...

*snaps back to reality*

Yeah, if you haven't seen that collection, go now - it's well worth it.

Thanks for the dream Chris...

Wwwwwowwww....gosh that raises the bar a few hundred high rises, doesn't it? So what kind of camera does one use to get 4 ft plus high photos? And I'm guessing you don't develope those at Rite Aid...;)

Thanks for the link, what a trip. And Duane, can you come photograph my dog when you get back from Morocco? LOL!
