I agree about selling the file and giving the print. In this case, getting something was more than I expected so I sold short. But at least he bought the print and I get to copyright the file and send it directly to the publication so he doesn't get additional usage -- unless he scans the print which he, no doubt, will!

My comment about "dumb as dirt" was more of an expletive than a statement that he's really dumb. Ignorant maybe but maybe also just simply dishonest. Are people really taught in school that anything off of the internet is free? That certainly explains a lot!
