I did a homeshoot for a friend last week and shot some of her Bengal Cats, but what I was really looking forward to was shooting her new baby Bulldog. She is about as cute as they come!

This is a new definition for the word 'cute' that I have been previously unaware of.

Nice photo, though. :-)

LOL, its funny to see the different response from the "cat photographer" and the "dog photographer". I'm actually not fond at all of adult Bulldogs but this puppy was just too much.

Thanks,
Diana

I just LOVE her! Of course, I adore Bulldogs in general and Bulldog puppies are to die for but this little girl is absolutely precious and you've captured her wonderfully. Not bad for a "cat" person .

Thanks Jim. Here's a couple more. I couldn't keep my hands off her, she's like a wrinkly mini tank on legs and *so* full of herself.

You can see that confidence in her eyes. I just love to see puppies with that level of self-confidence where you can look right into their souls through their eyes.

As I said, I love Bulldogs. I wouldn't own one -- I think they have too many physical problems. But the ones I've had the pleasure to meet over the years as a show photographer have been just wonderful. Met one at an outdoor show several years ago that was just 6 months old and was showing for the first time. She was standing next to my table under the tent and just walked over, put her paws in my lap and decided I should hold her. For the rest of the day, she'd look for me when I wasn't in the ring, wait for me to sit and then drag her owner over so I could hold her some more.

These are very nice portraits, Diana. See, you do talk "dog".

Thanks Jim, that's a very nice compliment. I don't know that I can take much credit though, all I had to do was make sure the lights were good and have the owner keep her on the table and the rest was all her doing. What really cracked me up was both her and her adult buddy chasing after the feather wands we had to tease the cats for photos. The pups where jumping up trying to bite the feathers. I guess with their kind of "burley" look I wasn't expecting them to be so playful.

Diana,
truly a dog that belies its appearance. Long ago, I was visiting a girl at a college in New Haven, CT and they had parietal hours where guys could actually visit the girls in their rooms. There were 3 girls in the room and 3 guys visiting and just talking, joking and having fun. As it got closer to the 11 p.m. roundup hour, we heard the guard making his patrol to remind everyone to get ready to leave and he was accompanied by his guard dog, a Bulldog named Chesley.

Chesley was famous (or infamous) in the dorm for his ability to make strong boys weep and immediately leave. But we were having fun and we kinda ignored the warnings until I discovered, as I was laying across one of the beds with my head over the side, Chesley looking me in the eye upside down! Chesley had a breathing problem and he tended to rasp a lot but as I looked at him from my vantage point, he looked adorable so I simply took his head in my hands and gave him a big, upside down kiss. He washed my face. The guard laughed. The girls and guys in the room laughed and I gave my new buddy Chesley some of our potato chips.

I've always remembered that big, ugly, intimidating boy for what he really was: a sweet, lovable and loving guy that most people avoided. Because of how Chesley sounded with his breathing problem, his nickname became (after a song of the same era) J'et aime. I always listened for him late at night when we were visiting and always enjoyed giving him his guy-kisses.

Thanks for the Bulldog puppy pics. They brought back some really nice memories.

Jim

I guess that's one of the best things about making and sharing photographs isn't it?
