Does ACR have a lens profile for this lens? If so, did it correct the problem? It does a good job with some of the canon lenses.

I use Capture One for my raw files, not ACR. I don't particularly like the color conversions out of ACR as much as Capture One. CO does indeed have a light fall off adjuster that works great. Another point - that much of the problems (like vignetting) can be adjusted in the raw software.

Or, depending on the camera, with Peripheral Lighting Adjustment in the camera itself. But, yes, I agree with Preston that vignetting would be much less a problem on a crop body and, regardless, you can adjust for it either in-camera or in software. Such are some of the many advantages of digital.

I think that peripheral lighting adjustment only applies to the jpeg files, yes? Next week, when I get some time, I may reprocess the images I shared above with the light fall-off adjustment in Capture One.

yes it is but you can apply the same correction in DPP or, frankly, most of the RAW processing software including ACR. Don't know for sure what it's called in Capture One but I'd be real surprised if it's not there.

Thanks! I know it is there, I originally chose not to do make light fall off corrections in pp because I wanted to show what the lens would do natively. I will definitely go back and add these files later (probably next weekend as I am off to Saratoga for the next few days) and see how they look.

A great read, thank you. I've been contemplating this lens due to it's reasonable price and the fact that it's apparently sharper than it's prime counterpart!
