Maine Department of Transportation awarded $4 million for Acadia gateway and ferry projects
The Maine Department of Transportation will receive $4 million in federal grant funding to help improve transportation around Acadia National Park and to help replace a ferry serving Islesboro, U.S. Sen. Susan Collins announced Monday evening.

Denali National Park Still Closed After Bear Attack
Part of Alaska's Denali National Park is still closed after a hiker was mauled to death by a grizzly bear on Friday. It was the first fatality from a bear attack in the park's nearly 100 year history. Melissa Block talks to park superintendent Paul Anderson for an update.

BioBlitz 2012: a weekend of science in Rocky Mountain National Park
The National Park Service and National Geographic came together this weekend to present the Bioblitz and Biodiversity Festival. The Bioblitz itself was a 24-hour cataloging of as many things as possible in the national park. NG and the NPS change parks every year, and this year it was Rocky Mountain National Park.
