More bears are waking up in Denali National Park
Workers clearing Denali Park Road in preparation for the summer tourist season reported seeing their first grizzly bear of the season Saturday at Igloo Creek at 35 Mile of the 92-mile road. Road crew members reported seeing another grizzly Monday on Polychrome Pass at 46 Mile.

Activists: Yellowstone wolf-killer is baiting animals with dead sheep
A big game outfitter who shot and killed a collared wolf from Yellowstone National Park is intentionally luring the animals by leaving dead sheep carcasses in a pile, leaders of a wolf advocacy group said.

Yellowstone south and northeast gates set to open Friday
Thanks to local funding from the community of Jackson, Wyo. to help assist in snow plowing operations, the South Entrance to Yellowstone National Park will open for the season Friday, May 10, as originally scheduled.
