Acadia to hold public meeting on Schoodic project Aug. 8
Acadia National Park is holding a public meeting Aug. 8 at 7 p.m. on a proposal to build a half-mile of bike paths and .4 miles of connector trails on the Schoodic Peninsula.

Cruise ship speed ban lifted in Glacier Bay
A temporary 10-knot speed limit on cruise ships taking passengers through the "whale waters" of Alaska's Glacier Bay National Park has been lifted. Officials of the national park say changes in humpback whale numbers and distribution in the bay make the limit no longer necessary.
