Hi all,
Hope you will get some flowers with your weeds tomorrow. I know this idea may need some evaluation but it has been fun to work out the thoughts. I know you New Yorkers have some problem even seeing the ground let alone any weeds, so if anyone is going into previously shot images I think that is great.

And as a hospital visit is even better than my dog eating it, I hope you Dee Dee are doing much better this week.

Paul, I am curious to see your image, but at this time it does not show up for viewing. I have the best luck uploading them to Photobucket and then copying it to this site. Others may have their easy route to post images.

My image for the valetines day is from the forest preserve and I believe this plant is called a Compass Plant. It gets really tall and I love the look of the entire plant.
Have a wonderful lovers day and may you get all chocolate you want!

Peggysue,

Well it was a rainy day here and I was trying to figure out some sort of photographic thing to do. Your challenge looked like the perfect thing for my testing out my new Helicon software. This pic is actually a composite of 5 pics at different focus points that Helicon blended to get uniform sharpness over the whole image. Only thing is it's still a weed. Taken with a Nikon D200 and Nikkor 50mm f1.8.

These used to pop up in the spring in a portion of our yard in Pennsylvania. Our neighbor had them to but sprayed "them darn weeds" because they "ruined the lawn."

These are all great, you guys have made the weeds beautiful! It's fun to see something from a different perspective. Thanks for the creative challenge Peggy Sue!

Here is my attempt, not what I had in mind in the beginning but I never did find the right kind of weed. I don't think a pet was part of the challenge...I find it very hard not to include Hallie in any photos!

(and I'm doing great now thanks although I might have a set back when the hospital bill comes...heh.)

I have had such fun watching these images come up on screen. I just had the idea to combine them and give you all a bouquet of the challenge. Thanks for all of you taking on this challenge! Happy Valentines day.

I can not participate due to the fact of having 3 1/2 feet of snow in my yard and over 6 feet where I normally photograph Nature. Even my Timothy Hay Field is completely covered with snow.
