Thanks all! I don't usually see them close up either. The winter has brought them our onto a causeway that runs across the Great Salt Lake from the mainland to a state park called Antelope Island. Out on the causeway itself they really don't have much room to avoid you so it makes it relatively easy to get the shots. You just have to be quick because they will take off running.
