Hello all,
I'm new to NWP, just registered today. I am strictly amateur at this point, although a few people have paid me a small amount for odd shots. I show Labrador Retrievers and much of my work is around dogs, with some limited cats here and there. Not too long ago I set up a gallery site with PBase, with one particular gallery for portraits of dogs and puppies. I will be adding some of my other work to it, but for now here is the link to that gallery. Please feel free to comment good AND BAD! I have a pretty thick skin about this kind of thing because I really want to learn as much as possible. TIA - Greg

Greg,
welcome to the forum! I visited your Pbase site and your Time To Go portrait truly broke my heart. The puppies give us joy and hope. But the old guys remind us of our own mortality and make us come to grips with loss and love.

Nice work. Please share more.

Jim

Hey Greg,

Welcome to the community. I took time to check out your pbase account and looked at photos of Leo and Tank. Outside of a slight softness issue on a few of the photos (though that may be the monitor I am using), I thought they were quite good.

Jim, that is a profound comment on the old guys. You are 100% correct.

Cheers
James

Thanks, Jim - and I think you're right about the softness. All of those were handheld - I recently found that one of my old RRS plates actually fits the 40D with grip (in spite of what RRS says) so I can get back onto the tripod which should help. I had been putting off spending the cash and kicking myself on a regular basis for it, so I'm glad for this little discovery.

On a different note - I just ordered a 1T Buffalo external drive and a Spyder3 Elite colorimeter! That's almost - but not quite - as exciting as a new lens!!!

Hi and welcome!

Of course I had to go look at "Time to Go" and now here I am a total mess. As luck would have it, I have mushy, emotional music in the background too!

I'll look forward to seeing more.
