Last evening, we were heading off to Basic Manners Training class with Moxie, our friends Jane and her daughter Melanie when Linda said "bring the camera. We have to get some images together for the Training series we're running in The Rottweiler Magazine Monthly and this is a great opportunity to get some informal ones." I looked at her as if she'd grown an extra head and said "It's 7:30 at night. It's dark. The training class is outdoors. Just what types of images do you expect me to get?" She waved her hand and told me not to worry. "You'll do fine," she said. I grabbed the camera which, fortunately, had the 17-55 F2.8IS attached and then muttered and sputtered a lot.

So, we arrived at the facility and here's what it looks like prior to Daylight Savings time at 7:30 at night.

Once class started, Melanie volunteered to work with Moxie. Here is an example of a "bad sit" with Moxie on her butt instead of up on her haunches.

And, after several minutes and lots of food rewards, here is an example of a "good sit".

Because Moxie will be showing in Conformation as well as Obedience, we mix in stand/stays with sit/stays in our training classes. Here's an example of a good "stand/stay".

And here's a shot of Moxie's new boyfriend, Archie, learning something that is very difficult for Doxies, the sit.

All shots at F2.8, ISO 3,200. Not great image quality but they'll be fine for reproduction at relatively small sizes in the magazine. Maybe next week, after Daylight Savings kicks in, I can get some shots in daylight. PS, Moxie now weighs 45 lbs at 15 weeks of age!!

Cute to see her grow.

A bit of Noise Ninja will clean those right up.
