The D3s is the first body that I trust in auto ISO. I set my aperture and shutter and let the ISO adjust as needed.
With the D3, the "odd, in between" ISO settings like 500 were noisier than even 6400 for some reason.
I've still got one D3 body, but I really need to switch it for another D3S. They're pretty much impossible to find at the moment though.
I'm in the running for Aussie nationals this year, but they seem really disorganized.
I think I ticked off the Sheepdog Finals committee by telling them I was unwilling to pay a large fee to be an official photographer, when they openly invite anyone and everyone with a camera to come shoot and sell photos without paying the fee. Silly if you ask me, but they didn't ask. I chose to tell them anyway
