This one was taken a couple months back. I was quite pleased with it personally and when James was asking about the monotone look to one of my images I thought of it. Thought he might enjoy seeing it. Canon 40D, Sigma 50-500mm. I don't recall if this one was shot from the kayak or not, but most likely was.

Nice B&W conversion. Shooting shorebirds is one of my favorite things to do. You captured those feathers really well.

I never think of converting birds to B&W, but I have with African game - elephants, hippos and cape buffalo. You've inspired me. I think I'm going to give this a go.
