Where did you go over the holliday?

Where did you go over the holliday? - 05/27/08 03:12 PM

no place out of the ordinary for me (just Glacier Park, but it is where I live), it rained about 10 inches over the past 5 days here, I did shoot a bit everyday but it mostly turned out lackluster. I did it to keep my finger loosened up for when it stops the down poor. . . I also have seen a lot of dead birds around, I wonder if they cant get out of the cold weather and when they get wet they cant get dry so they die? Any thoughts on that?

The whelping box in the studio. Took some shots of the puppies and got visitors from next door to check them out on Sunday and 7 more yesterday. Watched the puppies grow. They've put on an average of 9 oz over the past 5 days.

A photo event on Saturday and the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue shelter on Sunday. We had to do an orientation before I can take photos of their dogs for the website.

We walked a few dogs (no camera that day) and met some of the staff. Looks like I booked a big event in October for them as well.

Went north to Wisconsin to an Arabian horse show. Camera in hand, I was prepared to shoot like crazy. Numbers were down - 260 verses 4-5 hundred.
The old expression of " you cannot go home again" really stuck in my brain. With the price of gas, and the expense of dog shows and horse shows seem to be going down.
The State Fair grounds are very expensive to rent. The cost of putting on the shows just keep going up.
What do you see being affected by higher costs?

Just about everything. Our trash pickup has gone up every month or so for quite a while now. They are also throwing in other reasons to charge $.

I went to Kaaterskill Falls, NY. It is north of Kingston NY. It was a half hour hike to the double falls over rough ground. Yes, there was a path, but the kind where you constantly need to look at where you are stepping.

We stayed home and went to watch the sunsets at the State Park by our house, Memorial day was a bust but look at the other three -Fri., Sat. Sun.:

Very nice stuff, guys. We did not do much over the holiday. I did briefly go up to New Hampshire for a quick day visit. It was rainy, but not in a way that I felt like I could capitalize on the light to make something dramatic.

Our granddaughter was born Friday evening, so we stayed home to get a head start on spoiling her.

My son and I went to the Fort Richardson National Cemetery and paid our respects to our Nation's fallen heros. We stood at Kermit Roosevelt's (Teddy Roosevelt's youngest son) grave.
