Mt. Rainier National Park....

Mt. Rainier National Park.... - 07/23/08 12:00 PM

Out scouting for the future when weather DOES cooperate...(it didnt and was perfect blue the entire trip) I like drama in the skys, foggy mornings...etc...no such animal during my trip.

Well...got a few shots in none the less.

Here is Christine Falls...one of my first places I stopped in the morning.

Found a nice place on a one way loop to capture the morning light...

Later in the day I got a harsh light shot...would be nice in softer light...

Made it to Narada Falls as well, wife and I enjoyed the morning a LOT....cant wait to go back when the weather is a little moodier.

Watch your step....

Most of these in the thread are 5-7 shot panos and 60MP-90MP in size...so prints should be unusually clear at large sizes.

We were in Rainier last Thursday, My shots of Christine did not come out near as good, Had very harsh light, it really surprised me how much snow is still there. DAve

Hey Roman,

Very nice shots. I like the Mt. Ranier at Sunrise shot and Mt. Rainier from the West shots most. They are both very beautiful. Are you camping out there or are you heading on day trips?

Cheers

Dave....hope you got some great shots while you were out. It is challenging to get harsh light shots.....I got up at 4:00AM to get the christine falls shots.

James, thanks! We went with the intent of camping..but every campground for over 30 miles was full. VERY unusual for any campgrounds around Rainier....even the camp hosts were amazed....but one of the campgrounds that usually hold about 125+ sites was down...so I am sure the overflow was due to that.

We ended up getting a hotel room for the night. With a truck full of camping gear outside...LOL!!!

Roman,

Looks like a great time - even though you had to sleep in a nice warm soft bed in a hotel ... rather than on the ground...

Thanks for the shots - I always enjoy looking at your stuff.

Dave.....thanks...but you have to be kidding.

We have a family tent....and a Areo bed....I dont do sleeping on the dirt....actually camp would probably have been more comfy than the hotel bed. My back would have probably been happier too.

some very nice shots there... if the weather holds, i'm going to try to get down there this weekend, from the Eatonville side... a little more south. i've done the highway 410 route like you did, it's very scenic. Narada Falls is quite a sight from the bottom, but keep your camera covered... the spray gets pretty heavy in places...
