Wesley thank you for the article and sharing the shots. Some lovely images on your website, I especially like the pouncing fox - and your arches sunsets - beautiful.

That pic of the wolf is amazing. The story read well too. May I ask how close you were to the wolf?

Thanks!

thank you....
I was like 40 yards away. He was right off the side of the road. I can't wait to go back in September.

Hey Wes,

When are you heading back in September? I am going to be up there for about 8 days (two of which I will be working...but the rest is vacation) starting the 23rd. We will be off in Jackson for most of it as we like to hit the Tetons. We will be spending three days exclusively in Yellowstone.

I will be there either the weekend of the 23rd, or the 30th. There again will be more of us from DPrewiew heading out, but I can't remember which weekend I asked off at work, I guess I better find out. I think it was the last weekend of Sept....
Maybe I will see you there!

Cool. I just booked my plane tickets in...though I may change them and add a day.

We are looking currently at flying in on the 22nd. I am shooting a wedding on the 23rd and then spending the 24th in the Tetons. I hope to do Schawbacher's Landing on the 24th at sunrise (and hopefully sunset). The 25 and 26th, we are in Mammoth and the 27th we are in Old Faithful (to do a sunrise and sunset at the basin).

The rest of the week we will be back in Jackson as my pop and sib prefer the comforts of Jackson dining. .

Thank you. 40 yards is still a pretty long haul. I am impressed that you were able to get this so tight. What lens were you using?

I was using a Canon 500F4... Some shots had a 1.4x teleconverter on but not many.
