Scanning RFID Tags

Scanning RFID Tags - 09/01/06 01:51 AM

Hey Folks,

Would anyone know where to purchase a scanner to help target tagged critters within the Yellowstone system? It would seem to me to be something that would be fairly easy to build, however when one looks up 'RFID Tags' on google, one gets millions of responses - most of which relating to large companies like Walmart or Target or other such use of RFID technology.

James,
I work in the technology investment business and have experince with a couple of the leading RFID companies. RFID is really meant for close range use. It isn't the sort of thing used for wildlife.
However the gentleman that has guided me twice on amazing Grizzly bear tours in Katmai Alaska is a world known bear researcher, Chris Morgan.
Chris is also involved with the tagging of cougars in the northwest. His contact info is
