Queen Mary Falls

A very beautiful place to visit would like to return once there has been more rain....a short 2km walk to this wonderful water falls..

Wonderful photographs! I was viewing them earlier on my palm pilot at a neighbor's home and was not able to respond sooner. The 3rd is a bit blown out, but the composition is nice. What special processing did you do on the first one? Where are the Queen Mary Falls? Great efforts.

Queen Mary Falls is about 160km S/SW of Brisbane, 40km south of Warick abouts....sorry but you will have to explain what you mean about the terms "blown out" and "special processing means" only new to this lol.

Hey Marc,

Blown Out highlights are ones where there is no detail in the bright end of the register...so areas look like they are missing objects. For example, in the second to last photograph, the trees right around the falls are so bright that they are starting to fade into the sky. This is occurring because the camera is trying to expose on the water that is dropping from the waterfall.

Oddly enough, it really seems to work in the first composition - where I thought you had been playing with the photograph in photoshop for effect (and looks really cool, I might add). However, I am seeing now that it is a result of lack of latitude in terms of the camera's ability to record the data.

Thankyou for clearing that up for me lol...yeah it wasnt my skills of photoshop or editing more lack of skills with the camera lol...thatnkyou also for the link too.

Looks like a lovely place (and nice shots!) Marc. Makes a mental note to visit next time I am in SE Qld!
