Best Hard Drive Check Utility? Help...

Best Hard Drive Check Utility? Help... - 04/26/11 03:39 PM

I had a hard drive crash the other day (c drive, no data content loss). I was able to het the hard drive running with using a restore point, but it is still running slowly. I did a chkdisk (or whatever substitutes for it) and defrag. The drive is still running slowly.

Are there any hard disk restoration tools I should be looking at?

Thanks

What brand of HD are we talking about. Exact model and make please. I will see if I can find any diagnostic tools and or bulletins on the hard drive in question. If you don't want to share here...send me an e-mail. If you do send the e-mail...send the SN too so I can get past manufactures hurdles if any apply.

Hey Roman,

I had not realized it was so specific. I have no idea. I will have to open the box. I will check this evening.

Thanks!

Hey Roman,

Thank you for tue kimd offer. i had no idea how specific the sotware and hd needed to be. Last night I got in touch with gateway and they sent a program that I will try tonight/tomorrow.
